Well, after fixing the few issues that people reported in the beta, I went ahead and released 3.1.3…

…and it seems loads of you have been having problems. If you’re having problems please post a link below so I can see what’s happening.

In the meantime if you are having problems, I suggest you re-install 3.1.2 until I can figure out what’s going on. I have also flipped the download at WordPress.org back to version 3.1.2.

Sorry for any inconvenience. If any of you out there would like to help with the development of WP Geo or test future release please let me know.

I have also set up a demo site running the latest development version (currently 3.1.3) so please let me know if you spot any issues there.

  1. What steps will reproduce the problem?
    1. Upgrading to version 3.1.3

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Map in post, but instead blank in the place where the map should go

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

    WordPress 2.9.2 and WP-Geo 3.1.3

I had to switch back to v 3.1.2 to fix the problem

Writing the post, no problems, you can see google maps and find a location.
The problem is with the output.

Also, with some posts weird things happened, like duplicate text before the place where the map should go.

I am still using 3.1.2 and only today am I having the same blank map area problem, which is strange as I have not updated the plugin to 3.13

    I am using wordpress 2.9.2

I think I have fixed these issues in the development version. Please download this version and test it.

Please leave a comment it works OK (or not).

  4. As far as i can tell, with the new development versiin Geo-Maos is working good.

installed 3.13 and widget is still showing grey blank space… could this be something to do with google updating their Maps API?

  6. Rashed says:

looking at development version on demo site and this also does not seem to be working

Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache?
      What browser are you using?

Can you tell if there are any errors when loading the page that may indicate things not loading?

Are you just seeing a grey blank space or are you seeing the Google controls but no map?

  7. Rashed says:

Just noticed the maps now work, i think it was a dns server issue with google or my isp, as everything is fine now on 3.13 ! Nice!

  8. Rashed says:

using it on my site, and manually inserting shortcode in post, sometimes the map resizes to less than 100% width (despite being set as so in the settings) so map shows in 90& of width, but 10% of the width is a grey space.

    sure..

    and select the Map tab

    thanks..

The map area is 100% width. The grey area is where a Google map tile has not loaded in for some reason. I found that when I dragged the map, the map tile then loaded.

I’m not sure why this happens. I have seen it on a couple of other examples of Google maps where the map is initially hidden – I don’t know why this would cause a tile not to load though.

  10. Rashed says:

it seems that the map doesnt centre the location for some reason when this grey tile thing happens, when you drag the map down only then do you see the marker/icon, could it be something in the code where the map for some reason is straying from the long, lat coordinates? i.e not centering them?

Hey, I have a post template and a specific area I’d like to show the map for each post.

What code do I use within my post template to show / place the map? I’ve tried the code on this page but nothing shows.

    Thanks!
    DW.
